The two girls are using snap chat and a promotional article in Garage Magazine to take a strong stand against the social media bullies. “The Be Cool Be Nice” campaign is designed to raise awareness and provoke a smile.
Kendall Jenner knows from first-hand experience how hurtful social media attacks can be. She’s had her personal photos hacked and spread through various social media platforms and apps. Many of her family members, also KUWTK stars, have been victimized by various social media attacks and every relationship, social media exchange, and friendship she has is discussed on social media, and published in the tabloids.

Kendall Jenner and Willow Smith are going to fight back because cyberbullying hurts, whether the victim is rich or poor, famous or unknown. No one wants to be ridiculed in public. Social media bullying comments stay online forever, unlike unkind remarks made in the real world. It is serious and it is embarrassing so these girls are going to face up to the bullies.

Will Smith’s daughter, Willow, is a star in her own right. She’s been a recording artist with Jay-Z’s record label, Roc Nation, since 2010. She was the youngest recording artist ever signed. Her “Whip My Hair” single made No. 11 on Billboard’s Hot 100, and went platinum. So, Willow too knows what it is like to be a big celebrity, always in the public eye.
Kendall Jenner and Willow Smith have a very lighthearted approach to the extremely serious topic, though. It is something that is designed to defuse those hostile feelings. Kendall and Willow posed for headshots then put their faces up for all kinds of cool snap chat filtering. The filters allow for a lot of creativity and artsy effects, according to Daily Mail.
Kendall Jenner and Willow Smith are not the masterminds of this campaign, though. That credit goes to songwriter and producer Gerry DeVeaux, who is taking a stand for his goddaughter, who has been victimized by cyberbullying and has serious eating disorders.
Kylie Minogue, who sings songs written by DeVeaux, told Teen Vogue she fully supports the project.
“It’s cool to be cool and it’s nice to be nice. So, be cool be nice! I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some of the most amazing and talented people all over the world and the one thing they have in common are these two qualities. Kindness never goes out of style.”
As Will Smith’s daughter, a recording star, and an actress in several films, Willow has a lot of experience for a 15-year-old. She’s wise beyond her years and is stepping up for a good cause.
