Fans can watch the Mexico vs. Cameroon match live online as the teams kick off the 2014 World Cup with hopes of winning it all.

The teams will face off Friday at 11:30 am ET from Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Each team will be hoping to get a leg up on what looks to be a difficult Group A. The group also contains Croatia and host country Brazil, who are early favorites to win it all. A full Group A preview can be found here .

Both Mexico and Cameroon just squeaked into the World Cup. Mexico needed a late comeback by the United States against Panama to make the field, while Cameroon had a last-minute loan that ended a player strike over bonuses.

The Mexican team is looking to make the most of its once unlikely opportunity.

“This is my first and probably my last World Cup so you can bet that I will give my all to make history with this team,” said 30-year-old striker Oribe Peralta, who led Mexico to a win over Brazil in the Olympic final in London.

Those who watch the Mexico vs. Cameroon match live online will see a Mexican team with a mix of experience and newcomers . This will be the first international tournament for coach Miguel Herrera, who said he wants to break the streak of early finishes.

Mexico has never advanced beyond the round of 16 at a tournament outside its own borders.

“Our goal is to reach the fifth match at least,” Herrera said.

Cameroon will also be looking to turn around its World Cup fortunes. The team has only won one game in the last four World Cup appearances since its miraculous run in the 1990 World Cup, in which they shocked defending champion Argentina and advanced to the quarterfinals.

Cameroon has some talented players, including goalkeeper Charles Itandje, Barcelona midfielder Alex Song, and Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o.

The team seems ready to put the near-strike behind them and focus on Mexico.

“There’s no point making such a big fuss out of the whole thing,” Cameroon coach Volker Finke told a television station in Germany. “It’s really not as big as it has been made out.”
