Watch 2014 World Series Live Online, Giants Vs. Royals Game 1

Baseball fans who want to watch the 2014 World Series but aren’t able to make it to a television will be able to catch the San Francisco Giants vs. Kansas City Royals live online.

The 2014 World Series pits a recent powerhouse against a team tasting its first postseason success in decades. The Giants have been a mainstay of October baseball in recent years, winning the World Series in 2010 and 2012.

The Royals meanwhile had not reached the playoffs since 1985, when they won the World Series.

But this year’s Royals team is nothing like the bottom-dwellers of the past few decades. Instead they have rolled through the playoffs, beating the A’s in the Wild Card game before sweeping both the Angels and Orioles.

Fans who watch the Giants vs. Royals live online could see a Kansas City team at a disadvantage, however. The postseason success means they have been off for five days, waiting for the NLCS to wrap up.

“Hey, they’ve had four days off. That’s the way you look at it. They played one day later than we have — they’ve had a layoff, too,” said Royals designated hitter Billy Butler..”I don’t know if it’ll play any factor. It definitely won’t be the reason if we go out there and don’t win tomorrow.”

Coverage for Game 1 will start at 7 p.m., and the first pitch is set for 8:07 p.m.

Those able to get to a television will be able to catch the game on Fox, which is broadcasting the World Series for the 15th consecutive year. The five-person broadcast team includes play-by-play announcer Joe Buck, analysts Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci, and reporters Ken Rosenthal and Erin Andrews.
