Walt Disney World has announced a new way to enjoy the nighttime fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. According to the Disney Food Blog , guests will be able to purchase tickets for a dessert cruise that will offer great views of the “Wishes” fireworks (or sometimes other firework displays on given themed nights for Halloween and Christmas).

Those wishing to purchase tickets will be able to do so right on the Walt Disney World website (just like an “advanced dining reservation” or ADR). Adults will pay $99, and $69 for children ages 3 to 9. The price includes tax and gratuity and also a Souvenir Palette Plate and Glow Glass for each guest.

“The dessert menu will include items inspired by places guests view on the Ferryboat’s route such as: ‘The Grand’ Key Lime Tart, Contemporary ‘Traditional with a Twist’ Spiced Flourless Chocolate Cake, Polynesian De-constructed Pineapple Upside Down Cake, ‘Main Street’ Mickey Balloon Tarts, Mini ‘Fireworks’ Cupcakes with a Pop, Cinderella’s Sugar Slipper with Orange Financier, and Florida Mango Panna Cotta.”

The Walt Disney World website is advertising ticket availability on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from October 5 through December 18, with just a few exceptions. The cruise sets sail around 9 p.m. and lasts about two hours. Disney says that only 150 guests will be taken on the cruise each time, so reservations are required to ensure your spot.

Below is the cruise description listed on Disney’s website.

“Join us for Ferrytale Wishes, a unique dessert party and fireworks viewing event aboard one of the iconic Magic Kingdom ferry boats (named after a Disney Legend). Enjoy a special voyage featuring decadent sweets, specialty beverages (with and without alcohol—in a special glow glass!) and one-of-a-kind views of the world-famous Wishes Nighttime Spectacular above Magic Kingdom Park.”

Walt Disney World guests may view “Wishes” (or other fireworks displays) in other locations as well. Grab a spot along Main Street for an ideal view. You can also enjoy the show from the California Grill at the Contemporary Hotel or from the beach at the Polynesian Hotel. “Wishes” is quite the production and offers a wonderful story set to a lovely soundtrack — and yes, the fireworks are timed accordingly. This is a “must do” for just about everyone who visits the parks, and it never gets old!

Where is your favorite spot to watch “Wishes”? Would you consider going on the new Ferrytale Wishes cruise?
