A Walmart shooting has left a woman in critical condition after a fellow employee opened fire on her inside a Neenah, Wisconsin, store.

The incident took place on Wednesday, and though police have few details about what caused the incident the facts appear to point to a targeted shooting. The suspect, 46-year-old Justine Boyd from Greenville, was working in the store at the time she is suspected of shooting the 56-year-old victim, who was working as a liquor store cashier.

The victim was left in critical condition after the Walmart shooting, police said.

“We’re still very concerned for the victim,” Police Chief Kevin Wilkinson told reporters. “We’re obviously all hoping and praying for the best for her.”

Since the shooting police have been in contact with the victim’s family to sort out why the incident may have taken place, but admit that “the whole thing is really weird.”

No other people were hurt in the shooting, police said, and some customers didn’t even know what had happened.

“We have no reason to believe that there is anyone else involved, nor do we have any reason to believe that there’s any other threat to our community,” Lieutenant John Karner of the Neenah Police Department said.

The incident was reminiscent of another strange Walmart shooting earlier this summer. In late June, a man grabbed a 2-year-old girl inside an Oklahoma Walmart and held a knife to her neck. As the man ranted about how President Bush was watching him and talked about a connection to the secret society known as Illuminati, he grew closer to stabbing the toddler.

Police tried to negotiate, but when it became clear the man wasn’t competent an officer fired a shot, killing the man.

After Wednesday’s Walmart shooting, police arrested Boyd on a charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
