Paul McCartney, Victoria Justice, Bon Jovi, Natasha Bedingfield, and Sean Paul are part of a 16-artist ensemble that has released a new single, “Love Song To The Earth ,” in an effort to bring awareness to global climate change , reports Billboard .

Bedingfield spoke with regard to Earth changes being observed and the group’s decision to write “Love Song.”

“Many people turn a blind eye, arguing that everything is OK environmentally. The song reminds us that having ownership of our world means taking care of it. With this song we wanted to talk about the environment in a way that would help people feel empowered to do something rather than be paralyzed by fear.”

“ Love Song To The Earth ” was launched on iTunes yesterday and is expected to be available through other distributors beginning on September 11.

Sean Paul uploaded a preview of “Love Song To The Earth” on YouTube.

Other performers who took part include Angelique Kidjo, Sheryl Crow, Nicole Scherzinger, Christina Grimmie, Leona Lewis, Johnny Rzeznik, Krewella, Kelsea Ballerini, Colbie Caillat, Q’Orianka Kilcher, and Fergie.

“Love Song To The Earth” was produced by Beyoncé, John Legend, Stevie Nicks, and Kelly Clarkson and written by Sean Paul, Toby Gad, John Shanks, and Bedingfield.

All proceeds of “Love Song To The Earth” will go to the United Nations Foundation and Friends of the Earth U.S.

Alongside “Love Song To The Earth ,” a lyric video was released featuring guest appearances by United Nations Messenger of Peace, Jane Goodall, comedian Lewis Black, and Chuck Leavell, of the Allman Brothers Band and the Rolling Stones. The video was directed and produced by Louie Schwartzberg and Jerry Cope, “Love Song To The Earth’s” executive director.

“I hope this song will broaden the audience for this urgent message and give the politicians emotional support for meaningful climate agreement in Paris,” Toby Gad was quoted, referring to the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference scheduled to be held in December.

Worldwide, a grassroots, Earth-friendly political movement has emerged, partially represented by the Global Green Party , which has dedicated leadership from member countries, such as Elizabeth May in Canada, who take a strong stand on environmental issues and hold the health of the Earth in high regard.
