So, Verizon users can get iPhones next month…

AT&Ts exclusivity with the iPhone has officially come to an end, as competitor Verizon announced Apple will indeed be seeing other service providers .

AT&T has been long maligned for their difficulties in managing the strain iPhone users place on their network, and the impact of a Verizon iPhone on AT&T’s business has been buzzed about since the iPhone debuted. The biggest bits of gossip to come out of the announcement are that web functionality will not be possible when on a call, a feature consistent with similar smartphones on the Verizon network. Data plan pricing has not been disclosed yet. The handset will also ship with “personal Hotspot capabilities,” allowing the connection to be shared with “up to five devices simultaneously.”

If you’re a Verizon user looking to upgrade to the iPhone on the release date of February 10th (pre-orders start February 3rd), good luck getting to Verizon’s FAQ on the iPhone – traffic is a bit high right now. What else? Pricing is roughly the same as what we’ve seen with AT&T plans.

Have you been eagerly awaiting this development? Are you ready to ditch your BlackBerry, Verizon users?
