Vanessa Trump has posted a loving tribute to boyfriend Tiger Woods amid the intense speculation around his recent DUI arrest. Late last week Woods was arrested following an incident that took place Friday morning when his SUV crashed after he attempted to pass a slow-moving vehicle on Jupiter Island, Florida. An officer’s search of Woods allegedly uncovered two pills from the opioid class of drugs.
Sources told PEOPLE that Woods’ girlfriend of over a year, 48-year-old Vanessa Trump, has been trying to get the golf legend to “get the help he needs” and do whatever it takes to not repeat history from his well-documented off-course demons, according to a Daily Mail report.

Tiger Woods said earlier this week that he would be taking an indefinite leave of golf so he could prioritize his health. Fans were set to see him back on the course this weekend for the Masters after nearly two years away from the sport while rehabbing from injuries. Vanessa Trump captioned an Instagram photo of the couple with two red hearts and the message: “Love you.”
On Thursday a judge granted Woods’ request to leave the country while he undergoes treatment for prescription drug addiction. Vanessa Trump’s boyfriend has been charged with driving under the influence, careless destruction of property and resisting a lawful request without violence. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is due back in court May 5.
Vanessa Trump made the post hours after police bodycam video of the aftermath of Woods’ crash were released to the public. In one video officers ask Woods how he was doing following the crash. Woods responds that he spoke with former President Donald Trump — Vanessa Trump’s ex-father-in-law through her marriage to Donald Trump Jr. — who is friends with Woods and awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom during his first term in office. Tiger Woods claimed in post-crash video footage to have called President Donald Trump before being arrested for DUI, The Hill reports.

Tiger Woods was also questioned about alcohol use at the scene, telling officers he had consumed “None.” Officers asked Woods if he was on medications. “I take a few, yes,” he replied. He added that he had taken them this morning. Video footage from an officer’s bodycam reveals Woods sitting on the front of a patrol car while officers administered field sobriety tests.
In one, an officer moved her hand side to side in front of his face while he attempted to follow it without moving his head. In another, he was instructed to touch his nose. After completing the tests—during which he appeared to hiccup several times—Woods was told to stand and face the vehicle before being asked to place his hands behind his back. He was then handcuffed.
“I do believe your normal faculties are impaired and you’re under [the influence of] an unknown substance,” an officer told him. “I’m being arrested?” Woods asked. “Yes, sir,” she responded.
According to an affidavit released Wednesday, Woods was also described as “limping and stumbling” during the evaluation. In earlier bodycam footage recorded at the roadside, he explained how the crash unfolded.
“I looked down at my phone, and all of a sudden… boom!” Woods said, describing how he struck a pressure washer trailer and rolled his Range Rover. Police said he also told them he had been “looking down at his cell phone and changing the radio station” at the time of the crash.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Woods acknowledged the gravity of the situation. “I know how serious a matter I find myself in today,” he added. “I am stepping away from everyone for a while to get treatment and focus on my health. This will allow me to prioritize my well-being and continue to work towards a sustained recovery.”
Tiger Woods has now been involved in at least four car-related incidents since 2009 when he first crashed his vehicle into a fire hydrant outside his home after it was revealed he had cheated on his wife, Elin Nordegren. He then faced a DUI arrest in 2017 when he was found asleep at the wheel with the engine on.
Tiger Woods blamed the incident on an “unexpected reaction” to prescription medication and checked into rehab afterwards.
