Valentine the calf could so easily have been heading to someone’s dinner plate in the near future if it wasn’t for the perfect white heart formation on her forehead.

When farm workers spotted the unusual markings on the baby cow’s head, they instantly fell in love, naming her, very appropriately, Valentine.

Valentine the calf was born at Burwash Manor in Barton, Cambs, England, in April and was pretty much set to be sent to market. She was one of 21 calves born so far this year, with some to be kept for breeding purposes and others to be sold as meat. Luckily, Valentine the calf is being spared the dinner table.

Manager Clare Rosier, 26, explained to the Mirror Online , “She is adorable, we all love her.”

“She just came out with this white heart on her forehead.

“She is just beautiful. We are planning to keep her as a pet and we think she’s going to be a real attraction for our visitors.

“Cows often come out with markings, it’s a bit like cats, you never know what you’re going to get.”

She added, however, that they have never seen this before, and when her colleague told her, she couldn’t initially believe it.

Soon after images of Valentine the calf hit the media, the farm received a letter from an 80-year-old lady named Jean in Wales, asking them to give Valentine a tickle behind the ears for her.

Now, lucky Valentine the calf might very well be set to be a mascot for Burwash Manor’s Love Food festival to be held in February 2016.

In other cute animal news, the Inquisitr recently reported the story of a baby elephant who was rescued by members of the herd after falling in the middle of a busy road in Kruger National Park in South Africa.

There was also the very cute story of the mother hippo captured in a photo, corralling her baby while swimming in a pool at the San Diego Zoo.
