Both Uma Thurman and ex Arpad Busson were in high spirits leaving a New York courthouse after settling their bitter custody battle over their daughter, Luna, reports E! News . Thurman and Busson signed a three-year custody agreement, ending the battle that has set Uma on edge.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper praised Uma Thurman and Arpad Busson for putting aside their differences, telling Page Six “[e]verybody compromised a bit” and ended the battle for the sake of their daughter.
“I think it was all done to make one person happy and that one person is Luna,” Cooper said.
E! News reports that Arpad sued Uma in 2014 in order to spend more time with Luna, who’s full name is Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson. Although the details of the settlement are confidential, Uma Thurman signed a three-year custody agreement with Busson.

This time when leaving, Uma was all smiles and blowing kisses at the reporters, according to Page Six . In August, the 45-year-old Pulp Fiction actress blew up during her last custody battle , stating “the press doesn’t belong in Family Court,” who, according to Page Six , was actually in Manhattan Supreme Court at the time.
A tense Thurman continued to rage at the press, reports Page Six , telling them “you should respect people’s privacy” and pointing to the court house door, before snapping “Thank you, goodbye!”
Busson was happy as well that the custody battle is over and appeared to court wearing the three beaded bracelets he wears in honor of his three children (he shares two children with model Elle Macpherson). Uma and Arpad became engaged in 2008, but split briefly in 2009. Thurman welcomed Luna to the world in 2012, but split from Busson in 2014 permanently.
In a 2009 interview, Uma and her ex appeared on shaky ground, with Thurman telling W magazine at the time that she wasn’t “in a rush to do anything,” hinting that marriage wasn’t at the top of her list.
“One day we’ll do it when we’re ready,” she remarked.
Thurman explained that they “ can’t live anywhere else because my children’s father lives [in London]. We’ll figure it out,” reports E! Online .

The good news about her custody battle comes at the same time Fall Out Boy’s new song, “Uma Thurman,” hits the top 10, according to Billboard . The song dedicated to Thurman marks the first time Fall Out Boy has reached the top 10 , despite appearing on the Billboard charts for the past decade. “Uma Thurman” has sold over one million downloads and is the band’s eighth million-selling song.
