Why do adults never look this cute when doing karaoke?
Two twin boys, Jeremy and Justin , perform Bruno Mars’ hit song “Lazy” — and they totally nail it. Dressed in adorable matching “I Love Daddy” pajamas with striped legs, the boys perform Mars’ song gleefully for the camera, hitting almost every note and move. And the two boys just go to show that anything with twins really is twice as cute!
Bruno Mars himself would probably find the boys’ moves to be impressive. Mars may even see something of himself in the video, since it seems he got his start in music at age 2 , when he began to impersonate Elvis Presley with his family’s band! In fact, at age 4, Bruno Mars appeared as a tiny Elvis in the movie musical Honeymoon in Vegas . By age 6, he had appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show .
The video combines everything a video needs to become an internet hit — cute kid times two, dancing, and good music — so, of course, the boys have become an internet sensation. And the song choice is pretty much perfect.
The chorus of Bruno Mars’ “Lazy” sings:
“Today I don’t feel like doing anything I just wanna lay in my bed Don’t feel like picking up my phone So leave a message at the tone ‘Cause today I swear I’m not doing anything.”
Although the thought of toddlers deciding to be “lazy” and deciding not to do anything may sound a little strange (and a lot wonderful) to any parent who has one or more kids, some of the lyrics seem to fit perfectly with a toddler’s outlook on life.
For example, Mars sings:
“No, I ain’t gonna comb my hair ‘Cause I ain’t going anywhere No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no I’ll just strut in my birthday suit And let everything hang loose”
For a lot of parents of toddlers, the whole “No, I ain’t gonna comb my hair” combined with the strutting around naked probably sounds pretty familiar! Not to mention the parts before and after that, when the two little boys sing, “Oh, yes I said it, I said it, I said it ’cause I can!” which sounds like almost every 3-year-old in the world. So the choice for the boys to sing Bruno Mars’ “Lazy” is great, when you think about it.
