Whereas former President Barack Obama was known for known for the sheer amount of people who followed him on Twitter, which stands at 630,000 people as of this writing, President Donald Trump’s Twitter page is gaining fame for the sheer amount of people that he blocks. So much so that the #TrumpBlockedMe hashtag is gaining steam, along with the number of tweets that show up during a search of “Trump blocked” on Twitter.

One of those popular posts includes the tweet by @VoteVets, which calls itself the largest group of progressive veterans in the U.S., representing more than 500,00 military veterans. A recent tweet from the veterans group on Twitter noted that while President Trump can block them on Twitter, the military vets refuse to have their voices silenced on Twitter or anywhere else.

Whether the military group got blocked from President Trump’s Twitter due to recent buzz about the 11,000 or more homeless military veterans who could’ve been fed for one year if First Lady Melania Trump would’ve moved to the White House on Inauguration Day and saved approximately $24 million in security costs to guard Melania and family in Trump Tower, as reported by the Inquisitr , remains to be seen. Whether President Trump does the Twitter-blocking himself or has assistants like Hope Hicks perform his Twitter-blocking en masse is also unknown at this point in time.

Some people consider getting blocked on Twitter by President Trump a badge of honor and are actively trying to offend the Trump administration so much that they get blocked on Twitter. Others are bemoaning the fact that President Trump’s Twitter account is blocking so many people. As reported by Boston CBS Local , Jordan Thompson is a teenager who says he got blocked by the @realDonaldTrump Twitter account when Thompson questioned why Mr. Trump didn’t pay his respects to the Portland train stabbing victims.

President Trump’s Twitter account has been blocking people for quite some time, as witnessed by the following tweet from Bakari Sellers, an attorney and politico who is often seen on TV news programs. Bakari wrote on June 2, 2016, that Mr. Trump blocked him on Twitter. Since then, Sellers reaches out to his Twitter users to get screenshots of Mr. Trump’s daily tweets.

However, some Twitter users don’t find it funny that President Trump has blocked so many people on Twitter, and they claim that their First Amendment rights are being violated by not being able to view the president’s statements via Twitter, as reported by the Washington Post .
