‘Transformers 5’ Release Date Delayed As Michael Bay Allegedly Makes A Deal With Paramount

The Transformers 5 release date will probably not be in 2016, but Michael Bay will still be in control. However, he wants to work on another personal project before he does another film in the series.

Did you like Pain and Gain ? Not only was it Mark Wahlberg’s debut with the critically despised director and producer, but it was also Bay’s pet project. If Paramount makes a deal with Bay, we could see another film like that before Optimus Prime continues his quest to end the war with the Decepticons on Earth.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the next chapter in the saga with the Autobots and Decepticons could be leading up to a final confrontation with Unicron , the first of the transformers (according to canon).

Michael Bay has allegedly agreed to take charge by the unspecified Transformers 5 release date if Paramount lets him make a “smaller” movie first. After beginning a comeback trilogy with Age of Extinction , and rebooting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, he’s probably getting tired of working on blockbuster releases. Bay could be getting more tired of making them than critics are of complaining about them.

Bay did something similar after the release of the rush job known as Revenge of the Fallen , and came back for the third film with a more solid plan which thankfully used less sex jokes and racist characters.

Producer Ben Kendrick shot down the rumors that Paramount was looking for a new director for the last two films in the series:

“I think it’s one of those classic things where somebody reported that and suddenly it became our plan. We have never discussed the idea of how to hand it off, honestly. It’s not like we don’t think, well what happens if Michael doesn’t do it, of course you do. But we want to keep Michael on this, so we’re not spending any time worrying about who could come in. We’re trying to figure out how to keep him going and keep him excited.”

Think of Michael Bay what you will, but there is no denying that his films bring in a healthy payday. The Transformers 5 release date is inevitable, but first Bay wants to do something else.
