Tom Brady Meets Red Sox Players, Says ‘They’re So Little’

Tom Brady is arguably the biggest figure in New England sports, but he’s not too impressed with the stature of players on the crosstown team.

Several members of the World Series champion Boston Red Sox took the field before the New England Patriots contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Brady and members of the Patriots were surprised to see the size difference between football and baseball players.

“[Red Sox second baseman Dustin] Pedroia is like 150 pounds,” coach Bill Belichick exclaimed to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on NFL Films’ Sound FX this week.

McDaniels noted on the size difference between Shane Victorino and wide receiver Danny Amendola, one of the slightest players on the Patriots.

“Victorino is like 20 pounds less than Amendola,” McDaniels said with shock.

Tom Brady seemed to notice as well. Just before kickoff, he found Bill Belichick on the sidelines to share his thoughts on the small Red Sox players.

“They must be going, ‘Geez, these guys are huge!’” Brady said to Belichick. “They’re so little.”

Brady is 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, the prototypical size for an NFL quarterback.

It’s likely that the Red Sox biggest players failed to show up to be honored at the Patriots game. The team has six players who are Brady’s height or taller, including 6-foot-7 relief pitcher Andrew Miller.

Miller would need to bulk up a bit if he wanted to play in the NFL, however, as he weighs just 210 pounds.

Tom Brady might just be used to living large. The future Hall of Fame quarterback just bought one of the biggest apartments in New York, a $14 million penthouse in the One Madison Park glass tower.

Brady, and his Brazilian supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen, earned more than $90 million combined last year, with Brady pulling in $48.3 million.

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen also own a 14,000-square-foot mansion in Los Angeles that they built from the ground up, as well as a similar sized mansion near Boston. Plenty of room for the little Red Sox players to get lost in there.
