The West Wing cast reunited on Tuesday nine years after the show finished, and the various images that popped up featuring the actors were instantly met with a rapturous response.
The seven actors to reunite were Joshua Malina, Dule Hill, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford, Allison Janney , Martin Sheen, and Mary McCormack. Unfortunately, Rob Lowe , who starred in The West Wing for its first four seasons before he left, wasn’t in attendance.
Eli Attie, who was a writer and producer on The West Wing, took to Twitter to share the pictures.

But Attie wasn’t the only one to upload, though. Joshua Malina and Dule Hill also released plenty of images into the Twittersphere, too.
Fans of the show will struggle not to shed a tear seeing Will Bailey, Charlie Young, Toby Ziegler, Joshy Lyman, CJ Cregg, President Josiah Bartlett, and Kate Harper together again.

But why did these actors actually reunite? Well, despite Joshua Malina’s insistence that they were starting work on The West Wing: The Movie , they are actually filming a Funny or Die sketch that will, presumably, be a skit on the much loved political drama.
The West Wing debuted in September 1999 to rave reviews and high ratings. It ran for seven seasons before concluding in May 2006. It is widely regarded to be one of the best network television shows of all time, and it helped to cement Aaron Sorkin as one of the most popular and charismatic writers of his generation.
Sorkin has since gone on to scribe the critically acclaimed feature films The Social Network and Moneyball , while his reputation was recently soured because of the lambasted The Newsroom on HBO.
