Christina Grimmie is currently in critical condition after being rushed to the hospital. The YouTube star was shot at her concert in Orlando on Friday night. The former Voice contestant’s shooter, whose identity is unknown, is dead after shooting himself. Witnesses say four or five shots were fired at the concert at Plaza Live.
The Orlando Sentinal reported that a shooter approached Christina Grimmie around 10:30 p.m. after her performance with Before You Exit at Plaza Live. Police reported that the shooter had two guns drawn when he approached Grimmie during an autograph signing. The man shot himself after Grimmie’s brother tackled him according to multiple breaking news reports.

Josh Call was working the concert at a vegan hot dog stand when he heard shots fired inside the venue after the concert. He described the incident and said the shooter shot several times, all in a row. “It was quick like pow, pow, pow, pow,” Call told the Orlando Sentinal.
Call also claimed to have seen the victim, reported to be the YouTube star known to her fans as zeldaxlove64. According to the eyewitness, Grimmie was bleeding from her head. She is now listed in critical condition and little is known about her condition. Aside from the shooter, who killed himself, there are no other known injuries in the shocking Plaza Live shooting. It has not been reported who the shooter was or why he targeted the former contestant on The Voice.

Matt Lupoli from WESH tweeted , “Other witnesses say they believe the shooter may have turned his gun on himself after shooting the victim. Police have not released details.” It was reported by KIIS FM that Christina Grimmie was hit three times in the horrific shooting at her concert tonight.

Grimmie finished in third place on The Voice in 2014. She is well-known for her covers of chart toppers like Adele’s “Hello” and Sia’s “Elastic Heart.” Just minutes after the reported shooting, #PrayForChristina began trending on Twitter. Fans are taking to social media to express their concern about the well-known cover song singing YouTube star.
