Teresa and Joe Giudice recently lowered the price of their New Jersey home by $500,000. Days after the Real Housewives of New Jersey star entered into a 15-month prison term, a source revealed she and her husband are willing to take a hit on the home fans have seen for years on their Bravo reality series.
TMZ reported the below on January 7.
“Teresa and Joe Giudice just DRASTICALLY reduced the asking price for their New Jersey mansion, because they MUST move out stat for cheaper digs. [sic]”
“The convicted couple just slashed half a mil off the asking price. But the situation is more dire than it seems. They had initially listed the house for $3.99 million, but there were no takers, so in November they lowered the price by $500,000. Still no takers.”
Now, the Real Housewives of New Jersey couple have gone down an additional $500,000, bringing the asking price to $2.99 million, which their realtor believes “should do the trick.”
Teresa and Joe Giudice “originally purchased the New Jersey home in 2002 for just $530K,” the U.K.’s Daily Mail Online reported .
“Six years of renovations later, the Giudices had doubled the suburban property to 10,000 square feet and boosted the worth to $1.2M.”
The home “boasts marble floors, numerous chandeliers, and custom moldings,” the site continued.
“Teresa and Joe’s fancy foyer features two gold-trimmed Cinderella staircases beneath an ornate crystal chandelier. One of their four daughter’s rooms reveals a cheetah print sofa and bright pink walls which read: ‘Be Fabulous.’ Downstairs in their marble-countered kitchen there are more messages etched on the walls, such as ‘Give Much’ and ‘Gather Often.’”
Because of Teresa and Joe Giudice’s restitution fees, which they were dealt during their October 2 sentencing for bank and wire fraud, the couple is doing what they can to lower the price of their life and pay off their debt.
Unfortunately, Teresa isn’t making much behind bars. As the Inquisitr reported earlier this week, the reality star and mother of four is currently being paid between 12 and 14 cents per hour to work in prison.
According to Radar Online , Teresa “will earn anywhere from 12¢ to 40¢ per hour while incarcerated at the Danbury Federal Correctional Facility, where she’s required to work if she is medically fit.”
The site also noted Teresa would be eligible for more pay if she was granted a job at one of the facility’s factories.
Teresa and Joe Giudice are serving their sentences at different times. Once Teresa completes her 15 months, Joe will enter a 41-month term.
