Tennessee Titans Rumors: Terrance West Trade Completed With Cleveland Browns

Tennessee Titans rumors about a Terrance West trade have been confirmed. The Titans acquired West from the Cleveland Browns in an effort to improve depth on the roster. A report from CBS Sports states that the Browns will receive a conditional selection in the 2016 NFL Draft in exchange for West. The team spent more on him than in the 2014 NFL Draft, when the Browns made West a third-round selection.

West became the primary running back for the team last season , rushing for 673 yards on 171 carries. That was only good for an average of 3.9 yards per carry, but he did it for a team that was really struggling to protect the backfield. It’s obvious that Tennessee expects to get more out of the high draft pick than the Browns had been able to so far.

This is intriguing news for fantasy football owners, especially for those owning Isaiah Crowell. Crowell becomes the default starter for the Browns, making it easier to figure out who fantasy owners should start in week 1. It doesn’t guarantee performance, but West won’t be taking carries away from him now.

These Tennessee Titans rumors make sense for the team, as they had to place David Cobb on injured reserve to start the NFL regular season. It means he can’t return to game-action until eight weeks of action have passed. The backfield is still a little packed , though, as Bishop Sankey leads the way, Dexter McCluster should see carries, and Antonio Andrews will be used for his size. West seems more like an insurance policy for the team, rather than an immediate impact player.

For fans of Terrance West, this is going to hurt his value in fantasy football quite a bit. He falls behind Bishop Sankey in nearly every instance, but it’s certainly possible West could become a weapon for goal line instances. That might allow him to get a few additional touchdowns, but it is also contingent on how often Antonio Andrews gets to play.

When David Cobb returns from injured reserve, the front office is going to have to make a move. That could mean Terrance West gets dealt again or it could lead to the team simply waiving him. Fans should expect more Tennessee Titans rumors to surface at that point, especially with the excitement that has already been shown for what Cobb might provide the team on offense.
