Fans of Telltale’s award winning game, The Walking Dead, will be sorely disappointed with the recent announcement by Job Stauffer, the PR director of Telltale. He hit Twitter with the announcement their Walking Dead game will be delayed and not released in 2015 as anticipated.

To re-clarify, no, TWD S3 is *not* starting in 2015. But what I am seeing this week will be, and it is insanely cool. Stay close, news soon!

According to Bloody Disgusting , The Walking Dead Season 3 will be ready for gamers in 2016. Telltale’s The Walking Dead game arrived in 2012, and quickly scooped up a plethora of awards. The synopsis for Season 2 of the game is below.

“The Walking Dead is an episodic video game series based on Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic books. Season One of The Walking Dead won over 90 Game of the Year Awards.

Season Two continues the story that began in Season One. You are Clementine, a young survivor in a world gone to hell. The dead have risen to feast on the living, and the living cannot be trusted.

The story you experience in The Walking Dead Season Two is driven by the choices that you make. Because of that, your story could be very different from someone else’s. If you played Season One and the DLC episode ‘400 Days’, the choices you made there will affect Season Two.

While you don’t have to play Season One or 400 Days to enjoy Season Two, we recommend that you do in order to get the most from the story.

Your decisions and actions will change the story around you, in this sequel to 2012’s Game of the Year.”

TechnoBuffalo has suggested The Walking Dead game has been pushed back due to Telltale’s other commitments to games including “ Minecraft, Marvel, Game of Thrones, Borderlands , a ‘super show’ idea with Lionsgate, and its own original IP at the moment.” If Job Stauffer’s Twitter feed is anything to go by, this seems completely accurate.

While the original tweet Job made in relation to the delay with Telltale’s Walking Dead game also suggests something “insanely cool” coming up soon, there is no indication this is directly related to The Walking Dead game. Bloody Disgusting suggests this could indicate another bonus episode in The Walking Dead game is in the pipeline to keep fans happy until Season 3 comes out.
