Taylor Swift might need to find some new inspiration for her songs.
The singer is swearing off dating to focus on her music, the singer’s best friend and Victoria’s Secret model Karlie Kloss told reporters this week.
Kloss said her friend has instead been focusing on her music and current tour , which has her criss-crossing Asia at the moment.
“I’ve been traveling. She’s been traveling. No time for boys!” the 21-year-old Kloss joked about her friend Taylor.
Taylor’s last serious boyfriend was reportedly One Direction singer Harry Styles. The pair broke up early last year.
The abstinence from dating would be quite a change for Taylor Swift, who had a string of high-profile relationships that often fueled her music. Her relationships with musicians John Mayer and Harry Styles garnered her plenty of attention in the tabloids and led to the creation of songs “Dear John” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.”
In recent interviews, Taylor said that her songs are the new love of her life.
“I think I really just love the unity it brings me and the audience, because chances are they’ve felt the exact same way I felt when I wrote the song and I think it kind of reminds everyone — and it reminds me — that the human experience isn’t so lonely,” Swift said.
Taylor is also busy putting together a new album , saying she plans to bear down the recording process when the tour wraps up.
“I’ve already been working very hard at it, and it’s already my favorite thing I’ve ever created. So the idea [is] that after Asia, I get to go back and finish everything and get everything completely done and wrapped up for a new project, it’s very exciting,” Swift explained.
Taylor hasn’t given away too many details of the new album, but said she plans to explore some new territory in the effort. The singer said she wants to come up with a sound different from anything she’s done so far, noting that the writing and recording process is already ahead of schedule.
While Taylor Swift may be swearing off dating, she still has time for at least one special person in her life. Earlier this year she and Karlie Kloss shared a girls’ trip to California , posting plenty of pictures of their adventure via Instagram.
