Selena Gomez Has Not Been ‘Cut Off’ By Taylor Swift Over Justin Bieber Reunion

Taylor Swift has not cut off Selena Gomez after her reported reunion with Justin Bieber.

A recent report in Us Weekly trumpeted the false claim that Swift “distanced herself from [her] former best friend” following Gomez and Bieber’s widely reported reconciliation.

Bieber sent the Latina $10,000 worth of flowers and jetted to her side from Miami to McAllen, Texas last weekend where they were seen in multiple PDA moments . The Canadian singer then dedicated his hit “ As Long As You Love Me ” to Selena at the SXSW Festival, with the pair featuring in a racy dance video which he posted to Instagram before deleting Monday.

Sadly, it hasn’t taken long for naysayers to attempt to pour cold water on the young couple’s happiness, manufactured tabloid reports included.

Us Weekly claimed Taylor was “disgusted” by Selena’s return to Justin’s side to the extent that she was “cutting off her bestie,” despite the two girls evident closeness seen when Swift tweeted Gomez was “the closest thing I’ve ever had to a sister” on the Latina’s birthday.

The outlet even went so far as to use one its own fabricated stories — a baseless claim that was trotted out last June that Selena had hooked up with Brit singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran to make Bieber jealous – to insist Swift has longstanding misgivings about her friendship with Gomez.

“After Selena pulled that move, Taylor started distancing herself,” a purported ‘source’ told Us .

As IQ readers may remember at the time, we reported Sheeran’s camp said there was “no truth” to the dating rumors and the story died a swift (no pun intended) death.

Fast forward to Us ‘ latest nonsense, E! News and Gossip Cop have swiftly debunked claims of Swift icing out Gomez despite Taylor’s on record dislike of Bieber .

From E! News :

“A friend of Swift’s tells E! News of the supposed Taylor-Selena drama, ‘She has not cut her off.’ The pal adds that Swift thinks of Gomez like a little sister and will always be there for her.”

From Gossip Cop :

“A friend of Swift’s says it’s completely false, and that she ‘thinks of Selena like a little sister and will always be there for her.’”

It’s unfortunate that some outlets either have so little respect for entertainment news and are so desperate for traffic that they resort to the same tactics regularly used by often fact-challenged free zones such as the National Enquirer , MediaTakeOut, Star and Life and Style Weekly .

Meanwhile in other Gomez news, following Bieber’s Miami deposition last week in connection with a lawsuit filed by a photographer who claims he was assaulted by the singer’s security, it’s reported the lensman’s lawyer wants to grill Selena about what she may or may not know of previous altercations between Bieber and photographers.

Gossip Extra reports lawyer Mark DiCowden, who represents photographer Jeffrey Binion, is currently talking informally to the actress-singer’s lawyers but is ready to subpoena the 21-year-old to a deposition if negotiations fail.

Hot on the heels of her reunion with Bieber, the Disney alum left home state Texas to shoot an advert for Adidas NEO in New York.
