Now that New Jersey’s “Tanning Mom” Patricia Krentcil has given up tanning, she has taken on a new hobby: promoting skin care in a YouTube infomercial series, according to RadarOnline .
Krentcil teamed up with author Dana Ramos to promote her new book The Skin Regime: Boot Camp for Beautiful Skin in the YouTube videos, which document Krentcil’s attempts to repair her skin after years of sun damage. It was just last month that Krentcil acknowledged her problem and decided to get help from Ramos.
In one video, Krentcil is handed a tube of sunscreen and sighs deeply.
“I’m not thrilled. But I’m going to do it because I’m 44 and I want my face to look more natural and this, if anything, will help that,” she said.
Twenty percent of the proceeds from Ramos’ book will be donated to the Skin Cancer Foundation. The two will appear at a book launch at Westchester Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness in Kisco, New York this Friday.
Patricia Krentcil was accused of bringing her 5-year-old daughter into a tanning bed last April, which resulted in the little girl getting a sunburn. Krentcil said the whole thing was a misunderstanding and that the girl got a sunburn from being outside and playing in the backyard.
She pled not guilty to child endangerment in May and was released on $2,500 bond. The case will be heard in front of a New Jersey Grand Jury, and Krentcil could face a maximum of five years in jail if convicted. Krentcil said she has embraced her new tanning-free lifestyle .
