Anyone who knows anything about Iggy Azalea knows that rapper T.I. has always supported the Australian rapper. Due to various issues surrounding the rapper, T.I. has taken some heat for standing behind Iggy.
That said, for the first time ever, the rapper spoke out against Iggy, and publicly admitted that he’s severed ties from her.
In an interview with Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning , the radio host asking the rapper if he was still helping out Iggy, the rapper replied that he “took a bit of a rest stop.”
Although he’s no longer working with Iggy, T.I. didn’t diss the rapper while on the show.
“It’s very difficult to be the new kid and to be the butt of the jokes and to be directed, like, be the direction of all the negativity, you know what I mean?… [Iggy] came at a time when culturally, this nation — she’s not from here — we were actually looking for a source for somewhere to place some pent-up aggression… And they just got it for no reason. In some cases, they brought it upon themselves, and in some cases, they were kind of just the easiest place to put some pent up aggression.”
T.I. said that when he referred to “they,” he meant he was referring to “the world of Iggy Azalea and explained, “”She is the nucleus, but there are a lot of other pieces around — including myself — that keep that machine working. And I feel like they have all the tools necessary to evolve beyond those situations.”
When the news hit the web, Iggy Azalea was shocked, and had no idea what her former mentor was talking about. That said, she did address the whole situation as best as she could.
Heres the deal, I am still signed to @tip and do business with him. The first ive heard of us having an “issue” is via a radio interview.
