CBS’s upcoming adaptation of Supergirl has cast British-Israeli actor Iddo Goldberg as Dr. T.O. Morrow, aka Red Tornado, Comicbook.Com has confirmed. Goldberg’s alter ego is described as “the most advanced android the world has ever seen. Designed by scientist T.O. Morrow for the U.S. Army as the ultimate superweapon, he soon becomes sentient, posing a grave danger to National City — including the people Supergirl (played by Melissa Benoist) cares about most.”

Greg Berlanti, who is a producer on the show, recently divulged to Variety that Goldberg’s Red Tornado will have “an affiliation with General Lane,” who is the father of Supergirl and her sister Lucy Lane. The role of General Lane has yet to be cast, but fans learned this week that Lucy will be played by Witches of East End star Jenna Dewan-Tatum, who is the wife of Channing Tatum.

Twilight actor Peter Facinelli has also joined the CBS series as Maxwell Lord, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, True Blood’s Brit Morgan in the role of DC villain Livewire, and Chris Browning as Reactron. It is also rumored that Kryptonian villain Non will show up in Season 1.
Iddo Goldberg’s previous acting credits include WGN America’s series Salem , Secret Diary of a Call Girl , And While We Were Here opposite Kate Bosworth, and Netflix’s Peaky Blinders .
Supergirl was officially picked up by the CBS network this past May after receiving a series commitment back in September 2014. The series is a joint creation from Berlanti, Ali Adler, Sarah Shechter, and Andrew Kreisberg.
The show is set to follow 24-year-old Kara Zor-El, “who was taken in by the Danvers family when she was 13 after being sent away from Krypton, must learn to embrace her powers after previously hiding them. The Danvers family teaches Kara to be careful with her powers, until she has to reveal them during an unexpected disaster, setting her on her journey of heroism.”
CBS plans to roll out the premiere of Supergirl on Monday, October 26 at 8:30 p.m. The superhero saga will then make its permanent move to the network’s 8 p.m. timeslot on November 2.
