Toby the two-nosed dog is an Australian Shepherd who was recently rescued by Todd Ray, who runs the Venice Beach Freakshow. From the video included below, it’s pretty apparent that the unusual mutt is very happy with his new home.

Reportedly, the said Toby the two-nosed dog was caught after running wild on the streets of Fresno, California, and was impounded and was later heading for the death penalty. Luckily for Toby, along came Todd Ray who happily adopted the super-sniffer dog.

Ray, who owns the Venice Beach Freakshow, reportedly came across a post from an animal shelter and asked about adopting the unusual animal. As Toby was scheduled to be put down, the shelter pushed through the adoption rather more quickly than usual and was immediately happy to agree to Ray’s adoption request.

According to Ray, “Everyone that meets Toby loves him; he’s the sweetest dog on Earth,” saying that with his unusual double nose his unusual pet has “super-sniffing abilities.” Reportedly, the Australian Shepherd “can find anything with his nose,” or should that be noses?

Toby is now happily ensconced in Ray’s home and is all settled down and part of the family, which includes two other unusual canines. One of his new friends is Pinky the two-legged Chihuahua and the other is Rocky the five-legged Miniature Pinscher.

According to Ray, both Pinky and Rocky were adopted in similar situations, also on the death list at local animal shelters. To Ray, it is their differences that makes his pets so incredible.

“For me, they are incredible! I’m fascinated by unique animals’ beautiful differences and by the magical lessons that they teach us. The uniqueness of their forms shows us that ‘normal’ doesn’t exist.”

“The sad thing is that, at this time, people are at a place where they will let a two-nosed dog get put down before they will adopt him – only because he looks different.”

It would have been a tragedy if this beautiful animal had been put down, just for being a two-nosed dog. According to Yahoo News , Ray did say initially he was worried that Toby’s double nose would cause health problems, but reportedly a trip to the vet proved Toby to be in perfect health and with double the sniffing ability.

According to the description on the YouTube video, Toby the two-nosed dog “loves hugs and playing catch.” Ray says that being born with two noses doesn’t bother Toby at all; in fact, it appears to “come in handy when he is searching for his old chewed up ball.”

Reportedly it is not just strange and unusual dogs that reside in Ray’s Freak Show, as he holds the Guinness World Record for the largest number of two-headed living animals too.

And it’s not just unusual dogs that Ray owns, there’s more. Plus, he reportedly holds the Guinness World Record for the largest number of two-headed living animals in the world. One of these is Medusa the two-headed rare albino Honduran Milksnake, which can be seen in the video below.

As can be seen from the Venice Beach Freakshow YouTube channel, the show has also featured a two-headed Amaretto corn snake, a two-headed pine snake, a two-headed bearded dragon with six legs, Fluffy the five-legged puppy, a six-legged cow, and a giant roach, among many more unusual and strange creatures.

Ray also features in a television show on AMC called Freakshow where the more human side of oddity can also be seen.
