Stevie Nicks has been pretty busy these days. If she isn’t touring the world with her band Fleetwood Mac, then she’s signing on to The Voice , and at Adam Levine’s wedding, making beautiful music in Cabo.
All of this performing must have struck a chord with Stevie because she’s revealed that she’s coming out with a new solo album. The LP is titled 24 Karat Gold and will be out in stores on October 7. For those who want a special edition vinyl, or just want to get your hands on the album first, fans will be able to buy a limited edition double LP on September 29.
24 Karat Gold will be Nicks’ follow up since her 2011 solo album In Your Dreams , which she recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles. If you’re looking for a particularly new sound from Stevie, you might be a bit disappointed as these songs were recorded between 1969 and 1987. Then again, you can’t get any better than a never-before-released album from Stevie’s golden years.
These fans seem to agree with this sentiment:

The singer told The Associated Press , via Rolling Stone, that the older tracks made their way to a new LP after she was inspired by hearing bootlegs from a few YouTube videos. Apparently this made Stevie want to go back into the vault and pull out a few goodies for her fans.
“[W]e found all the songs that, somehow, were taken from my house or picked up or loaned out or whatever. I call them my 24 karat gold songs.”
She continued to express what the album represents to her as an artist and as a person:
“Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a love story. They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories — the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box. These songs are for you.”
In addition to the brand new solo album, fans will be privy to never-before-seen polaroids taken by Nicks throughout her career. The deluxe photobook will be comprised of 48 pages of new/old pictures.
