Steve Jobs’ yacht Venus has finally been launched.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that the sleek white superyacht that the Apple founder designed before his death was launched this morning in Aalsmeer, just south of Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.

Jobs said before his death that he was worried that he would not be able to finish his boat.

Jobs said :

“I know that it’s possible I will die and leave Laurene with a half-built boat. But I have to keep going on it. If I don’t, it’s an admission that I’m about to die.”

French product designer Philippe Starck, who was commissioned by Jobs to build the 78.2-meter (256-foot) all-aluminum yacht, said that the boat reflected Steve Jobs “expectation and vision.” According to Stark, the design of the boat was approved in 2007 and was never altered during construction.

Stark’s design company said in a statement:

“The project never changed during the process of five years dedicated to a rigorous work on details, driven by the famous eye and genius of Steve Jobs … This work was directly done between Steve Jobs and Philippe Starck.”

Here’s a look at Steve Jobs Yacht Venus.

Several people have noted the many similarities between the Yacht and all of Apple’s products. Walter Isaacson, who wrote a biography of Jobs, described the boat, writing:

“As expected, the planned yacht was sleek and minimalist. The teak decks were perfectly flat and unblemished by any accoutrements. Like an Apple store, the cabin windows were large panes, almost floor to ceiling, and the main living area was designed to have walls of glass that were 40 feet long and 10 feet high. He had gotten the chief engineer of the Apple stores to design a special glass that was able to provide structural support.”
