New behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Star Wars Episode IV are being displayed in public for the first time, and they reveal a fascinating glimpse into the making of one of the 20th century’s most influential films.

The images are taken from the collection of Ann Skinner, who worked as a script supervisor on Star Wars , as IGN notes. Revealed to the public for the first time, they feature as part of the British Film Institute’s new exhibition On-Set – Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope . The collection includes Skinner’s own notated pages of the Star Wars script, as well as details of a deleted scene and photos of characters who failed to make the film’s final cut. As Polygon observes, the exhibition will be hosted in the BFI’s Atrium until January 4.

The collection also includes pictures of the Star Wars cast relaxing between takes. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Peter Cushing feature in unique images that are sure to captivate fans. Cushing, who played Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars , can be seen smiling in one image, while in another, he stands next to David Prowse, who sports a huge pair of sideburns, having removed his Darth Vader helmet between takes.
