Drea de Matteo is engaged!
Michael Devin, Whitesnake bassist and Drea’s boyfriend of a few years, asked for de Matteo’s hand in marriage in the most epic way. According to ET Online , Devin proposed during a Whitesnake concert on July 25 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
During the concert, the band stopped playing and Devin asked Drea to go up onstage. Drea was watching the concert together with her two kids, Alabama, 7, and Waylon, 8, who are both from her previous relationship with Shooter Jennings.
What followed next was a surprise to both Drea and the audience. Michael Devin started with a short speech before asking Drea to marry him.
“I fell in love with a very beautiful woman a few years ago, and I want to embarrass her as much as I can.
“I’ve been in love with you since the day I met you and I will for the rest of my life, and I hope that you’ll marry me.”
But before Drea even got to answer the big question, Michael continued speaking.
“Wait, I have two questions for you: One, will you make sweet passionate love to me for the rest of my life?”
Drea de Matteo’s answer, of course, was in the affirmative.
“Forevermore,” she said.
“And two, will you marry me please?” asked Michael.
To that, Drea had a question of her own.
“Will you love my children forevermore?” she asked.
“Yes,” replied Michael.
The two kissed, much to the crowd’s delight, and Drea had one final thing to say.
“I’m going to marry this mo********er!”
After Michael’s proposal to Drea, the band continued their concert and played one of their songs entitled “Is This Love.”
Drea de Matteo has appeared in a number of movies and television series, but she is best known for playing Gina on Joey , Angie on Desperate Housewives , Adriana on The Sopranos , and most recently Wendy in Sons of Anarchy .
Drea and former partner Shooter Jennings started dating in 2001. They became engaged, had two kids, but called off the engagement and eventually split up. Afterwards, Drea started dating Michael.
It was Devin’s birthday a few days after the proposal, and he shared an Instagram picture of himself and Drea , thanking everyone for birthday wishes, according to People .
