The Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan has been fighting for her townhouse in New York for years. Sonja filed for personal bankruptcy a few years back because a movie investment fell through. Morgan ended up owing several million to creditors, and she has been struggling to pay back the money. Last year, Morgan sold her home in France in hopes of helping the debt payments.

Sonja Morgan has revealed that she will do just about anything to ensure that she doesn’t lose her beloved New York townhouse. Now, Morgan has completed a loan that will hopefully save her townhome. It is no secret that Sonja wants the home to stay in her name.

According to a new Radar Online report, The Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan has completed a $3.1 million loan on the East 63rd Street home where she lives with her daughter. The lender, who remains nameless, has promised to work with her to give her a new mortgage. This is something that was mentioned in court documents.

“The mortgage lender is aware of the pending bankruptcy cases,” the document says, with the judge ordering, “In the event that the mortgage financing is not successfully completed as contemplated herein, the liquidation of the townhouse is triggered without a new hearing.”

It is a tricky deal that Sonja Morgan has made. If it works out for her, then she gets to keep the home. If it doesn’t, then the townhouse will be liquidated. But Sonja does have other homes that she could sell to keep the debt down. She owed nearly $7 million to one bank. If Morgan tells her home in Colorado, which is valued at $6.5 million, then she could take off much of that debt. Her home in France sold last year for $5.7 million.

As for Sonja Morgan’s ex-husband, John Morgan, he is left with nothing from the bankruptcy. The judge is siding with Sonja in this matter. John, however, is slowly starting to work together with Sonja to get her financial troubles fixed.

Sonja herself, however, appears to be in good spirits despite dealing with this major financial issue. Back in October, Morgan began filming the newest season of The Real Housewives of New York alongside Ramona Singer, Bethenny Frankel, and LuAnn De Lesseps. Sonja must love being surrounded by friends. In addition, Sonja recently launched her very own podcast. According to the Inquisitr , it is called Sonja in the City.
