Personally, I never was much of a fan of being interrupted from my adventures by having my weapon give out on me, usually at an inopportune moment. For those of you like me, we won’t have to worry about that with Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim .
Bethesda’s VP of marketing, Pete Hines, confirmed on Twitter that Skyrim will not have weapon or armor degradation. Instead, the focus will be on creating weapons and armor through crafting and improving them.
While I personally may not be a fan of being forced to repair my gear, I can see how this could end up being an unwelcome change to Elder Scrolls fans. It did add a certain layer of realism and, as a result, immersion to previous games, but I would hardly consider this a dealbreaker.
