Do you skateboard or, perhaps more to the point, are you the parent of a skateboarder ? If so, you probably worry a lot about your child’s safety on that board . While it’s true that skateboarding is one of the more dangerous activities for young people, or old people for that matter, there are safety measures that can greatly reduce the risks.

Perhaps none is more important than wearing a helmet.

A 1998 study found that more than half of all skateboarders have suffered a head injury. But if your kid likes to skateboard, you probably know how difficult it is to persuade him to wear a helmet. It doesn’t look cool. It’s uncomfortable. And all the usual excuses. You’re probably heard them all.

But we’re here to help. Show your skateboarder this very short video — which despite its brevity makes its point in no uncertain terms.

This skateboarder in the video is Prescott Majette. he’s 22 years old and he’s from Tallahassee, Florida. Prescott has been skateboarding and longboarding since he was 12. And he’s really good at it.

But watch what happens in this video — it happens to the best of them — and you’ll understand why Prescott declares, “I love helmets!” over and over again.

If you ride a skateboard, you’ll love helmets, too.
