Selena Gomez is putting the rehab rumors to rest.
Life & Style magazine reported earlier this week that the pop singer was experiencing a drinking relapse, and was being urged to seek treatment at a rehab facility. However, her reps confirmed exclusively to Gossip Cop that the rumors were not true.
To slam the rehab rumors, Selena Gomez took to her Instagram account. She posted a photo with words that read, “I want to claim my own name,” and added a lengthy caption to explain what she meant by that.
“Sometimes I get frustrated when I hear lies about who I am,” she wrote. “The Internet is meant to keep you “updated” but it just takes old news and freezes it like it’s now. You have watched me in pain and I’ve owned up to it through my music and actions. I grew up with you.”
“I am beyond excited to show you the next chapter, the TRUTH,” she continued. “I’ve been keeping so many secrets… I’m reborn in every moment so who knows what I’ll become.. As long as I’m happy with me. #strongisbeautiful #healthyperspectiveonthemfools.”
Gomez has recently been a victim of bullying after she shared photos of her curvier figure. She was instantly fat-shamed by her haters, to which she responded perfectly.
During a Q&A in Google Hangout on behalf of her new Adidas NEO line, she addressed the bullying she experiences from being in the spotlight.
“Bullying,” she replied, when asked if she could change one aspect of the world what would it be. “I would deactivate every single comment on any social media. I think you should have an email where you can send in questions, but you should be able to post what you want, say what you want, be what you want without anyone judging you or making you feel like your self-value is from an Instagram post or from people liking your post.”
During the same Q&A Selena spoke about when her fans can expect new music from her.
“I’ve been in the studio constantly, and I’m so anxious for you guys to see everything and hear everything,” she said. “But just know that it’s the best that I’ve ever done and you guys won’t be disappointed. I wish I could play it for you now but I can’t.”
