Selena Gomez has fans waiting with bated breath on the release of her upcoming album, Revival, but they won’t have to wait any longer for a new music video. The new full-length video to her brand new song, “Same Old Love,” was released on Tuesday, exclusively on Apple Music. It is the second single off her new album, which is being released on October 9.
According to People , the video also included 800 of Selena’s most adoring fans. The Revival event was held at the Palace Theater in Downtown Los Angeles on September 16, where many of her “Selenators” were invited to. They were quite surprised when they found out that the final product of the music video would include them, as well. Selena recently explained what the video is all about.
“This song represents the many cycles of love and it was important that the video showed different examples of love. Plus, I got to surprise my fans by including them in it which made it even more special for me.”
The music video starts out with Selena Gomez riding in a black car on her way to the concert. As she stares out of the car window in between the raindrops, she witnesses the many effects of love. She sees a crying mother and her son driving away in a packed vehicle, an angry man at the wheel of his car, and other unhappy couples. However, she also sees a few couples still in love as they kiss and hold hands, thus the “many cycles of love” that Selena talks about.

She then has her own driver let her out of the car as she walks around watching other couples. The 23-year-old singer seems to realize that she has really had enough of the “Same Old Love” and starts running down a dark ally in her little black dress to the venue. She arrives on stage in front of her 800 screaming fans waiting to see her. Selena finishes off her new song, with the help of a few male dancers behind her, as the real concert footage is being shown.
E! News had spoken with Selena Gomez at the Revival event, and she talked about how and why this new album was put together.
“At that time, a lot of the world had their own opinions about what I was going through, and it was very frustrating because I’d be at home with my friends and I’d be like, ‘I just wish I could tell them everything and how I feel.’ “
Now she has made her feelings known in this upcoming release, which is slated for next month. In the meantime, fans can just enjoy the new single and the accompanying video, as well.
