Days before the release of her latest album titled Revival , Selena Gomez has announced plans for a world tour set to kick off in May 2016.

Gomez is set to hit 41 North American cities in the first leg of her tour, with the first stop in Las Vegas on May 6, Entertainment Weekly reports .

In a statement released Monday, Gomez said the following.

“I am ready to get back on the road and see my fans in person! This album marks a new and very important chapter in my life. I cannot wait to get on stage and perform this new material.”

Selena was all over social media Monday with Revival World Tour announcements and a specially made video appearing on the singer’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Although the official tour announcement didn’t come until Monday, Gomez posted a video to Instagram days earlier teasing her fans with a little preview.

Selena’s second solo album , Revival , will hit stores Friday and features the three singles already released: “Same Old Love,” “Good For You,” and “Me and the Ryhthym,” a song Gomez surprised her fans with last week. Selena says this is her most confident album yet.

“I was always insecure with my speaking voice because it’s so low. I never felt like it was feminine-sounding. I didn’t know it would be such an asset to who I am now, though. It adds a cool, personal quality. It’s exciting.”

Gomez says the album was born after a tear-filled conversation with John Janick, CEO of Interscope, Selena’s new label. USA Today reports that in an interview, the singer talked about feeling like she was treated unfairly in the press and wanting to be heard.

“That ultimately pushed me to be able to create an album that was personal and real and hopefully, by the grace of God, will be critically acclaimed in some aspect,” said Gomez.

In an interview with Flare magazine, Selena talked about why the album (and tour) was given the title Revival .

“I’m so tired of feeling like I’m being pulled down by something. ‘Revival’ is the first song on the album, and the first lines are, ‘I feel like I’ve awakened—the chains around me are finally breaking.’”

Tickets for the Revival World Tour go on sale October 17 at 10 a.m., according to Ticketmaster’s website. Pre-orders are available, however, through the singer’s website . Those pre-ordering the album will be granted a unique code that will grant the buyer “Advance Ticket Access to next tour,” the site says. So far, only the US and Canada portion of the tour has been mapped out, but Gomez says additional locations and cities will be released at a later date.
