The Waller County Sheriff’s Office in Texas has called off the search for a missing airplane after they were unable to find any evidence that it had crashed.
According to a report from KBTX , the FAA contacted the Sheriff’s Office on Sunday afternoon, indicating that they had lost contact with an airplane flying over Texas and believed that it had crashed somewhere near the Waller/Washington County Line, close to Highway 290 near the Brazos River Bridge.
The Sheriff’s Office, along with the Department of Public Safety and several other agencies, launched a search for the missing plane after several witnesses gave conflicting reports of the plane’s location.
Now, according to a report from ABC 13 , the Waller County Sheriff’s Office has called off the search after combing the area – ground and air – and contacting surrounding airports, having been unable to locate any wreckage . Waller County officials say that they now believe that there was never a crash, and would not indicate where the missing plane had been heading before contact was lost.
