Bachelor Sean Lowe is returning to reality TV this summer, along with his wife, Catherine. The couple, who married in January, 2014, after meeting on the Bachelor Season 17 , will star on an upcoming episode of Celebrity Wife Swap with another couple from the popular ABC reality show , Jason and Molly Mesnick.
According to Reality Steve , the episode that features Sean, Catherine, Jason, and Molly will air in July on ABC. The couples reportedly swapped wives last weekend, with Catherine filming in Washington with Jason, and Sean filming with Molly in Texas. It’s likely Molly got the easier gig — Sean and Catherine have no children. Jason has a son, Ty, who is 10, and he and Molly have a 2-year-old daughter, Riley.
“If you’re not familiar with the show, it’s just what the title says. ‘Celebrities’ swap wives for an episode and live the other person’s life. No, they don’t live together, but they become their ‘wife’ in their life. Funny thing is, Sean and Catherine have no kids. So exactly how will it be difficult for Molly to go live Catherine’s life in Dallas when for all we know … well … we don’t know what she does.”
Sean and Catherine’s upcoming appearance on Celebrity Wife Swap may answer some questions for fans who wonder what the Bachelor couple do for a living, other than tweet and post photos on Instagram. While Sean claims he owns a real estate investment company, he has also earned a good deal of money for his television appearances, and is known for promoting various products on social media.
Lowe, who recently published a book, For The Right Reasons , reportedly made between $75,000 and $90,000 for his role as the Bachelor, and an additional $90,000 on Dancing with the Stars Season 16. E! reports that the couple was paid “six figures” to get married on live television in January, 2014.
Sean and Catherine also make money doing advertising gigs for various companies, including Sears, Boots No. 7 Skincare, Hydrocut, and the Luster Premium White tooth whitening system. According to All American Speakers , Sean also commands a fee of between $10,000 and $20,000 for speaking engagements .
Celebrity Wife Swap is in its fourth season on ABC — the first episode of the new season aired on May 26 and featured Jackee Harry and Traci Lords. Although Sean and Catherine Lowe’s swap with Jason and Molly Mesnick will be a first for Bachelor Nation, they aren’t the first reality stars to swap wives on the long-running show. Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin and Kendra on Top star Kendra Wilkinson swapped homes on Season 2.
