Police made and arrest in the SEAL shooting case after a 25-year-old man opened fire on former Navy SEAL and American Sniper author Chris Kyle at a Texas gun range.

The alleged shooter, Eddie Ray Routh, is accused of opening fire at a Texas gun range, killing Kyle and another man. Routh was arraigned Saturday evening on two counts of capital murder, The Associated Press reported.

Police made the SEAL shooting arrest after finding the bodies of the 38-year-old Chris Kyle and 35-year-old Chad Littlefield at the Rough Creek Lodge shooting range, about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth. Police say that Routh opened fire on the two men at around 3:30 pm on Saturday, then fled the scene in a Ford pickup truck.

Police arrested Routh in the SEAL shooting later that night, when they found him at his home in Lancaster, about 17 miles southeast of Texas. Police apprehended him after a brief pursuit.

Chris Kyle was known for writing the best-selling book, American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History . In it he detailed his 150-plus kills between 1999 and 2009., said Kyle served four tours of duty.

“Chris died doing what he filled his heart with passion — serving soldiers struggling with the fight to overcome PTSD,” said Travis Cox, director of FITCO Cares, a nonprofit Kyle helped to found.

Kyle’s death was also mourned by his co-author.

“We have lost more than we can replace. Chris was a patriot, a great father, and a true supporter of this country and its ideals. This is a tragedy for all of us. I send my deepest prayers and thoughts to his wife and two children,” Scott McEwen, co-author of “American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History,” said in a statement to ABC News .

After the SEAL shooting arrest, Routh was being held on combined bail of $3 million.
