Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin knows the White House is somewhere on Pennsylvania Avenue, but isn’t quite sure of the exact address. Palin, who was the Republican nominee for vice president back in 2008, spoke at the Value Voters Summit last week and once again fumbled a fact that most elementary school students know.
ABC News reports that during Palin’s speech she referred to President Obama’s current address as “1400 Pennsylvania Avenue,” instead of the address where the White House is actually located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
“Don’t retreat. You reload with truth, which I know is an endangered species at 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue, anyway truth. The media’s favorite president. He just can’t stop telling lies.”
The 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue comment set off a firestorm of funny articles and tweets about Palin’s latest gaffe. Even Palin poked fun at herself when she realized she made yet another foolish mistake.

The Daily Beas t’s Olivia Nuzzi Gaffe writes that Palin’s speech was given at the Omni Shoreham Hotel “that is rumored to be haunted by a dead maid” and thought that perhaps the former governor made the error because the maid was “screwing with Palin’s notes.”
The tweets about Palin’s “1400 Pennsylvania Avenue” comment were especially entertaining on Friday, with so many great one-liners it was like attending a free online standup comedy show.
