Even though Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and Note 5 received excellent reviews, Samsung fans noted there was one thing missing that previously made Samsung stand out from Apple: a microSD card slot. Some fans said that they didn’t buy Samsung’s latest devices just because of that.

Information about the Samsung’s Galaxy S7 has leaked out. Phone Arena has the details.

“We will apparently be getting a 5.1” 1440 x 2560 pixels screen, 12 MP rear camera , 5 MP selfie shooter, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage on that particular model. Since this is reportedly the Exynos 8890 version, it would be great to know the final benchmark tally, but AnTuTu is warning that the phone is currently still in the testing phase, so they might report the specific test run scores later on.”

In a previous article by Phone Arena, they revealedthat there is a high possibility that the Galaxy S7 will have the microSD card slot that has been missed by so many. GottaBeMobile elaborates on the microSD card slot and sums up some other rumors about the Galaxy S7.

Apparently, the Galaxy S7 will look a lot like the Galaxy S6, but will be a very different phone inside. This is a good thing since everybody praised the design of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. The site says the phone will be faster, more powerful, and will even have better battery life. There will be three different versions of the Galaxy S7: The regular Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S7 Edge, and the Galaxy S7 Edge Plus.

If Samsung does include the microSD card slot on the Galaxy S7, then it is likely they will use it on the upcoming Galaxy Note 6, since the Galaxy S is usually a precursor to the Galaxy Note. Samsung could certainly use a hit. According to Information Week , sales are so bad for Samsung that the Mobile CEO, J.K. Shin, is out.

“While Samsung is still the worldwide leader, the company has lost market share over the last year due to poor sales of its flagship smartphones. That’s why today J.K. Shin is out and Dongjin Koh is in as the company’s new chief of mobile.”

The article adds that flagship phones such as the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Edge, and the Note 5 have done nothing to revive Samsung’s declining fortunes. This happened despite the fact that the Galaxy Note 5 was the best-reviewed smartphone of 2015. CNETgave the device four-and-a-half stars.

CNET praised the device for having an eye-catching design, high-end hardware, and the great outdoor photos the smartphone takes. They loved the upgraded stylus and the terrific battery life. However, the review didn’t like the fact that the Note 5 didn’t have a removable battery and that there are no external storage options.

The Galaxy Note 5 is a robust device that is almost like a small computer. While the Android operating system isn’t as simple and consumer-friendly as iOS, one can do a lot more with the Note 5 than they can with any Apple device. Perhaps Galaxy Note fans stayed away from the latest Note since Samsung seems to be turning into Apple by not offering signature options that Samsung Note lovers have come to expect, such as a removable battery and a microSD memory slot.

Just because Samsung is down doesn’t mean that they are out. The Galaxy S7 could very well turn fortunes around for Samsung. Are you interested in buying the Galaxy S7? Let us know in the comments section.
