Rumer Willis Diet And Workout Secrets Revealed: They Include French Fries

Rumer Willis has some rather refreshing diet and workout secrets that don’t include boring workouts or gross green juice cleanses.

Rumer Willis recently talked to E! News about how she stays in such amazing shape, and the Dancing with the Stars champion revealed that her secret is pretty simple — she doesn’t make herself miserable to stay in shape.

“I pretty much eat the same things, I mean French fries are still a large part of my diet,” Rumer revealed.

However, as the Inquisitr previously reported, Rumer’s regular diet does include a few restrictions, including dairy, gluten, and red meat.

Unfortunately, if most people stuck to their regular diets, it would be almost impossible for them to get slim — they’d have to spend half their lives at the gym. As E! News points out, Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy trained for six to seven hours a day during their stint on Dancing with the Stars . This means she was burning a ton of calories. Mere mortals who aren’t competing for a mirrorball trophy will still have to cut back on the junk food to drop a few pounds, but dieters shouldn’t feel guilty about indulging in French fries during a once-a-week “cheat day.”

Another important part of Rumer Willis’ fitness philosophy is to find a workout that’s actually fun. Luckily for Rumer, she discovered that she has a blast dancing with Val Chmerkovskiy, and it’s a lot easier for her to stay active when she’s not doing something repetitive and boring.

“But honestly, that’s just one of the reasons why I like dancing. I don’t like standing on a treadmill,” Willis revealed. “I like doing things that actually serve a purpose. To me, running on a treadmill, that seems so monotonous and I’m not working towards anything, so at least when I was dancing, I felt like, I’m doing something that’s going to give me something back. It’s not just for the sole purpose of trying to make my body look a certain way.”

In other words, try to choose a workout that doesn’t just challenge you physically — look for something that will also challenge your mind by forcing you to learn a new skill, or try to chose an activity that will allow you to set goals that will really make you feel like you’ve accomplished something after you’ve reached them. Decide that you want to learn to surf, rock climb, ice skate, dance, etc. Then you can decide that you want to scale a certain mountain, perfect a certain dance routine, or ride a wave for a certain amount of time.

According to E! News , Rumer is a fan of aerial workouts that involve hanging from the air on pieces of silk and performing different poses. Us Weekly also reports that she was working with a personal trainer before she started competing on Dancing with the Stars . According to trainer Mike Donavanik, “it only takes about 20 to 30 minutes of high-intensity exercise to see change.” He recommends using YouTube to look for free workouts that you can do at home instead of paying for a gym membership
