Fresh off her monstrous success in the third season of Orange Is The New Black, Ruby Rose has confirmed that she’s in consideration for a role in Fast & Furious 8. There’s just one problem: she wasn’t cast in Furious 7 because those involved thought she looked like Justin Bieber, and Rose knows that was the case.
Ruby Rose confirmed to The Today Show that she has held talks with the creative team behind the Fast & Furious franchise because of her success in the Netflix drama.
But the Australian model/DJ/actress previously confirmed to OK! magazine , via the Daily Mail , that the audition she had before she was cast in Orange Is The New Black culminated in her being compared to the 21-year-old singer by one of the film’s lead actors.
“My last audition before Orange was for Fast And Furious 7,” Rose confirmed. “But they didn’t want me because one of the main guys said I looked like Justin Bieber!”
Speaking to The Today Show , Rose remarked, “It’s so funny because now I’m in talks with that movie and I haven’t mentioned to them that I know [they turned my down because I looked like Justin].”
Rose teased during this exchange that she’s also had numerous meeting with various studios about potential big roles, but refused to be drawn on specifics.
Rose took time to explain that she has now been in Los Angeles for two years, and during this time she struggled to get management, an agent, and even auditions. However, after a year and a half her luck changed thanks to the help of a short film that she made.

The facial similarity between Rose and Justin Bieber previously led to the duo meeting up, which she documented courtesy of her Instagram account.
Meanwhile, Furious 8 is currently in development, with rumors suggesting that the latest addition to the much loved franchise will take place in New York. Furious 7 is currently the highest grossing movie of 2015, having amassed the outrageous amount of $1.512 billion at the box office.
It is currently the fourth highest grossing film of all time, behind The Avengers’ $1.58 billion, Titanic’s $2.186 billion, and Avatar’s $2.787 billion.
