Rosie O’Donnell and her daughter Chelsea O’Donnell have been reunited after news broke yesterday that the 17-year-old had gone missing.
According to E! News , Rosie O’Donnell was able to reunite with her daughter who had reportedly gone missing on Tuesday, August 11, and while news broke Tuesday early evening that Chelsea had been found safe, some had been left wondering exactly what had happened.
According to a previous report by the Inquisitr , there were multiple conflicting stories reported as to what had happened to Chelsea O’Donnell , though according to this report, Rosie O’Donnell’s rep, Cindi Berger, stated that Chelsea had recently gone off her medications for an unspecified mental illness, which had prompted her to run away with her therapy dog, Bear.
CBS News reported that police had found Chelsea in Barnegat, “at the house of a male she was recently acquainted with,” and when police came looking for her, she reportedly left willingly, though she reportedly denied any medical attention.
“Rosie wants to thank everyone for their help, especially the South Nyack, NY and Barneget Light, NJ police departments,” the comedian’s rep shared in a statement to E! News . “Her daughter Chelsea O’Donnell has been located by the police and is safe in their custody.”
Once Rosie O’Donnell was notified that her daughter was found and safe, she took to social media once again to let everyone know that Chelsea was safe and sound.

According to E! News , Chelsea was reportedly of sound mind when she was found and remained so as she was reunited with her mother during the early hours of Wednesday morning. Police stated that the reunion between Rosie and Chelsea took place so early because Chelsea was found some two hours away from home and they personally transported her back home to her family.
Officers went on to say that the reunion was nothing special, calling it “vanilla” and “neutral” without any hostility.
“The reunion was without incident, there was nothing notable that happened,” police confirmed to E! News . “Rosie was relieved that Chelsea was home and that her welfare was fine.”
