Singer Rod Stewart is apparently set to star in a reality show to be broadcast early this summer, according to several reports . The show, which reports say will be broadcast sometime this June, will focus on Stewart and the rest of his family, with his two eldest children — Sean and Kimberly Stewart — set to have “prominent roles” once the show finally airs.
However, the focus of the show will remain on Rod, as well as his wife, Penny Lancaster, and their two young sons, Alistair and Aiden, who are nine and four, respectively. According to these reports , the show will also feature Sean and Kimberly Stewart’s mother and step-father, although how much of a role they will play, as well as how much air time they will receive, was not further elaborated on. The show is also set to feature actor George Hamilton, as well as his son Ashley Hamilton.
Reports have also said that the show will not be entirely real, as it has been stated that the show — which has yet to receive a title — will be “part scripted.” Stewart’s show will face some tough competition, as not only are the two youngest Kardashian sisters getting their own reality show, but last year, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she and her family were in talks to begin filming a new series of their famous — or infamous — reality show The Osbournes with a broadcast date of sometime this year.
This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that Rod Stewart has hit the headlines. When talking about Stewart’s American Songbook , singer Bob Dylan branded Stewart a “fake,” and said that Stewart didn’t seem to take the task of recording cover versions seriously; or at least, he came across as if he didn’t.
“I was looking forward to hearing Rod’s records of standards. I thought if anybody could bring something different to these songs, Rod certainly could. But the records were disappointing. Rod’s a great singer. He’s got a great voice, but there’s no point to put a 30-piece orchestra behind him…You can always tell if somebody’s heart and soul is into something, and I didn’t think Rod was into it in that way…
“With all these songs, you have to study the lyrics. You have to look at every one of these songs and be able to identify with them in a meaningful way. You can hardly sing these songs unless you’re in them. If you want to fake it, go ahead. Fake it if you want.”
