Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may have called off their longtime relationship in 2013, but it appears that the former Twilight couple continues to spark reconciliation rumors, despite Pattinson’s current engagement to British singer FKA Twigs.
According to a new report from International Business Times , Robert Pattinson is reportedly missing his former romance with Kristen Stewart, despite his upcoming wedding to fiancée FKA Twigs. Sources close to Pattinson allege that Robert’s friends are encouraging him to reunite with Kristen Stewart before further fueling rumors that suggest a split between Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs is coming in the near future.
The alleged source explains that Robert Pattinson recently “confessed to his friends that he misses Kristen,” noting that Pattinson’s friends “pushed him to reconcile” with the Equals actress.
The site goes on to explain that Pattinson’s friends “don’t want him to marry FKA Twigs,” which echoes previously debunked rumors that suggest Pattinson’s family isn’t supportive of the duo’s romance, before arguing that Robert will cancel his wedding to FKA Twigs so that he can “get back” together with Kristen.
Despite the claims, Gossip Cop reached out to a rep for Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs, who insists that the latest Robert and Kristen reunion rumors are “wrong,” and holds “no truth” to the state of Pattinson and Twigs’ relationship.
The news comes just weeks after Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs seemingly shut down the incessant breakup reports by attending the star-studded eighth-annual GO Campaign Gala together in Beverly Hills in November.
Robert Pattinson, who is an ambassador for the nonprofit organization, posed for photos alongside soon-to-be wife FKA Twigs and also posed for pics next to close friend Katy Perry during the event.
According to witnesses in attendance at the event, Robert Pattinson was reportedly “transfixed” while watching FKA Twigs perform an acoustic set for the event’s attendees, Us Weekly reports.
In addition, witnesses revealed that Pattinson and FKA Twigs looked “totally smitten” by one another, and were even spotted holding hands underneath their table during the event.
Despite their coupled-up appearance, breakup rumors have been plaguing the new couple ever since news of their engagement leaked in April. While neither Robert Pattinson nor FKA Twigs have personally confirmed the engagement reports, sources close to the couple have confirmed that a wedding is planned for Pattinson and Twigs in the near future.
While rumors have previously suggested that the couple would wed this past summer, a source close to Robert Pattinson admitted to E! News that the duo would have to delay their upcoming nuptials due to conflicting work schedules.
The source also combatted rumors that suggest the delay in wedding plans is indicative of an impending breakup for the couple, noting that Robert and FKA Twigs are doing “just fine” and that they aren’t in “a rush to get married.”
“They haven’t drifted apart [despite claims], but they haven’t spoken as much lately because of his filming schedule. He is in Belfast and she is currently in the United States,” the source explained of the duo’s busy schedules.
“There most likely won’t be a wedding this year,” the source confessed, “but that has been the expectation for months. There isn’t a rush to get married. Fall plans turned into winter plans and now there are no specific plans, but they still plan on getting married.”
Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs have reportedly been dating for a little over a year and are rumored to have been engaged since April.
