Without star actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Twilight changes dramatically. Luckily for Twilight fans, Pattinson and Stewart have each said they would be open to doing another Twilight film — if the stars line up!
Unfortunately, neither Pattinson nor Stewart have said what it would take for them to sign on for a Twilight sequel. In fact, it’s not even clear whether Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would be open to working together.
In a recent interview with Elle Paris, posted and translated on his website, Pattinson spoke briefly about the possibility of doing a new Twilight movie. When asked if he would be open to doing a Twilight sequel, Pattinson said, “Why not!”
But when the topic of Kristen Stewart was raised, Pattinson said, “I prefer not to broach the subject.”
It doesn’t sound like Pattinson is too keen on working with his ex-girlfriend. While filming the Twilight franchise, Pattinson and Stewart carried on a heated relationship — that is, until Stewart admitted to cheating on Pattinson with Rupert Sanders. Sanders had been married to wife Liberty Ross for seven years at the time of the affair.
The relationship between Stewart and Sanders, which happened in 2012, was said to have been a fleeting fling, but the relationship between Stewart and Pattinson has rarely been friendly since their final breakup in 2013. Today, Pattinson is engaged to FKA Twigs.
Nevertheless, in August, Stewart also said she would be interested in a Twilight sequel or reboot. While talking to Uproxx , Stewart basically said that she would consider another Twilight movie if everyone else from the film wanted to do it.
“I was so genuinely, heavily entrenched in ( Twilight ), and not in a way that felt like an obligation. Even though after the first one, which stood alone, it lasted a long time. It’s hard to speak to a five-year period in a few sentences, but I loved doing it. But that doesn’t mean I want to keep doing it. But if other people? Yeah, sure. To be honest with you: I would be interested. I’d be kind of fascinated, but it wouldn’t emotionally affect me one way or the other.”
The topic of working with Rob Pattinson wasn’t brought up in the interview with Uproxx , so her current feelings on acting with Pattinson are unclear.
