Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs may be further delaying their wedding, but that doesn’t mean the couple is headed for a split.
Despite rumors that suggest things are not well in Pattinson and Twigs’ engagement, sources close to the duo are speaking out against breakup reports by insisting the couple is “excited to be married.”
A source close to the Twilight actor and “Two Weeks” singer explained to Us Weekly that the couple “is still enormously happy with Rob and they aren’t rushing to have the wedding.”
The source further reported that things “couldn’t be better” in the couple’s relationship.
While the couple have been at the center of split rumors since first igniting dating reports in September 2014, fans grew increasingly concerned about the duo’s romance after sources explained to People that the duo’s busy schedules is keeping them apart.
The insider notes that while the duo’s wedding is “off the agenda,” Pattinson and FKA haven’t “called off the engagement.”
The source also alleges that the duo’s busy schedules are putting a strain on their relationship, explaining that they are “drifting apart” now that Pattinson is busy filming for The Lost City of Z in Ireland while Twigs remains in L.A.
“They’ve definitely drifted and have barely spoken while he’s in Belfast and she’s been in the States,” the source reveals, noting that the singer has been staying at Pattinson’s house while spending more time with her entourage.
The source concludes by noting that Pattinson’s upcoming film project in Colombia in October is “bound to create further distance between them,” further fueling speculation of an impending split.
Despite the rumors, Us Weekly ‘s sources insist that the couple “text and talk nonstop when she’s on the road and they are away for work. They are always talking when they can’t be together.”
Similarly, E! News reports that according to their Pattinson insiders, the couple is doing “just fine” amid the breakup speculation.
“They haven’t drifted apart [despite claims], but they haven’t spoken as much lately because of his filming schedule. He is in Belfast and she is currently in the United States.”
The insider continues, “There most likely won’t be a wedding this year, but that has been the expectation for months. There isn’t a rush to get married. Fall plans turned into winter plans and now there are no specific plans, but they still plan on getting married.”
