On Tuesday’s episode of the Real Housewives of New York , Bethenny Frankel and Ramona Singer bring the drama, as the two go head-to-head over rules of etiquette for brunch invitations. Did the minor run-in start the first RHONY feud this season?
As the Daily Mail reports, it was not long after Bethenny showed up in the Hamptons that she and Ramona went head-to-head during Tuesday’s episode. When Bethenny invites some of the other Housewives to brunch at her home, Singer attacks Frankel for not asking permission to do so.
“Actually you’re not coming over – you’re my guest and you’re not going anywhere. Don’t take away my guest. You don’t invite my guest to your house unless you’re invited by me, it’s not polite, I’m sorry.”
Ramona consults LuAnn de Lesseps on the rules of etiquette, but the former countess disagrees with Singer on the rules and says it is actually Ramona’s guests who should ask permission.
Although Bethenny Frankel entertains the argument with Ramona Singer for a minute, the Skinnygirl mogul tries to shut the conversation down by walking out, but Ramona chases after her. After Singer attempts to apologize, Frankel tells her, “I don’t want to hang out with you. That’s it. It’s very straight.”
Following Tuesday night’s episode, both Housewives took to their respective Bravo blogs to share how they felt about the argument. Bethenny Frankel takes responsibility for her part in the argument and says she was “intense” while filming that scene and maybe a little crazy. Ramona Singer says she is not sure who was right on the rules of etiquette, but she felt like Frankel’s verbal punching bag.
“I was surprised when I invited everyone to the lunch that I was hosting in honor of Dorinda that it turned into an argument with Bethenny. Was she right? Was I right? It really doesn’t matter who was right or wrong. To me, what matters is to get past it and just work it out. That’s why I ran after Bethenny. I wanted to patch things up. I was shocked by her anger toward me. I felt verbally beat up by her and very hurt.”
While this could be the first feud of the season, it is likely not to be the last. In a preview for next week’s episode of the Real Housewives of New York , LuAnn de Lesseps faces Bethenny Frankel’s wrath because apparently, LuAnn purposefully did not send a memo to let her co-star know that Kelly Bensimon is back on the scene.
