Real Housewives of Orange County’s Vicki Gunvalson has moved Brooks Ayers into her California home as Ayers once again battles non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The two have been living together in Gunvalson’s Coto de Caza home since October.
Vicki tells Us Weekly she knew something was wrong with Brooks health-wise, but was stunned when she learned this fall that Ayers has stage 3 cancer . This is the third time Brooks is fighting cancer. He first learned he had non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2009. Brooks is currently undergoing treatment .
Although the couple are well known for their frequent on-camera break-ups and make-ups over the past several years, and she denied just last month that the two were in any way involved, Vicki Gunvalson now says the two have been “together” for over a year now with no time off from each other and that is the way it is going to stay. Ayers tells Us Weekly cancer can either make or break a relationship, but in his and Vicki’s case, the two are closer than ever.
“[Cancer] either will tear you apart as a couple or bring you together. And with us, without a doubt, it’s brought us together.”
As far as Gunvalson’s daughter, Briana Culberson, who has made her dislike for Ayers very clear throughout the years on camera and in the press, Vicki says she’s “standing by her man” and hasn’t even told her daughter that Brooks has moved in, but guesses Briana will certainly find out now. Brooks says he is ready to apologize yet again to Briana about his past bad behavior and “make peace,” as Briana deserves the apology. He also understands Briana’s need to protect her mother.
The couple say they are relying on Ayers’ kids during this time, and Vicki says many of her co-stars from Real Housewives of Orange County have reached out to help, including Heather Dubrow and her husband Terry, Lizzie Rovsek, and Shannon Beador. However, one “friend” Vicki Gunvalson has not heard from is Tamra Barney.
“Never heard from Tamra… Interesting. You know what, you really find out who your true friends are when things like this happen.”
As Radar Online points out, Vicki Gunvalson has seemingly forgotten Ayers’ admitted to cheating and how tumultuous their relationship really has been over the years. However, given the seriousness of Ayers’ situation, Vicki may be willing to forgive, forget, and move on.
