Yolanda Foster was diagnosed with Lyme disease just months after marrying music producer David Foster, and while the pair have since announced plans for divorce, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently opened up about how her former partner potentially saved her life.

In the mother of three’s Bravo TV blog on December 29, Yolanda Foster spoke of her ongoing health crisis , claiming David has played a major part in her recovery. In fact, if he hadn’t suggested she undergo a full-body scan several months ago, she may not have made it this far.

“Last June, David woke up one morning and said, ‘We are not doing any more treatments until you get a full body scan.’ That scan probably saved my life, as doctors found free-floating silicone under my left arm pit, under my right clavicle bone, and under my rib cage.”

As fans are seeing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills , Yolanda Foster underwent breast implant removal surgery a short time after the discovery was made, and due to the risks of the procedure, she first presented her three children, Gigi, Bella and Anwar Hadid, with her will.

“None of these findings changed my late stage Lyme disease diagnosis, but it was a good explanation of why three years of hard work had not paid off yet,” Yolanda Foster continued. “It was a big breakthrough in my case at a time that I was just existing. At that point I honestly was not sure how and if I was going to pull through.”

Yolanda Foster has been a part of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since Season 3, when she was brought aboard the show as an associate of Lisa Vanderpump, who is a best friend of Yolanda Foster’s ex-husband, Mohamed Hadid, the father of her three children. However, ahead of Season 6, her return was questionable due to a Lyme disease release in late 2014, which left her unable to read, write and watch television.

After announcing the devastating news to her fans in her blog, Yolanda Foster attended the reunion for Season 5, but unfortunately, she was unable to film the entire special and ultimately chose to leave early after feeling extremely ill. Luckily, in the upcoming months, Yolanda Foster saw positive changes in her illness, and returned to filming with her co-stars for Season 6.

Throughout the first half of the sixth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills , Yolanda Foster has seen ups and downs in her battle against Lyme disease. On the debut episode of the series, Yolanda Foster seemed to be at her worst. In addition to breaking down in tears of her health struggles, she made a brief appearance at the birthday party of Lisa Rinna, but left early after feeling sick. Then, as the episodes continued, Yolanda Foster’s health seemed to improve, and last night, she was seen taking a walk with Erika Girardi and Kyle Richards. At the same time, she assured Richards that her health was no miracle, at least not at that point.

Despite Yolanda Foster’s public battle with Lyme disease, it has been noted during the season that not everyone feels the illness is real.

For more of Yolanda Foster and her husband, David, tune into The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6, airing on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
